Welcome to CUPC
How to access Haggis Farm
CUPC trains at Haggis Farm, which also runs the Cambridge Polo Club. The address of the farm is Cambridge Rd, Barton, Cambridge CB23 7AT. This postcode will take the GPS to the farm entrance, not to the polo club entrance. Please note that the entrance for polo players is tucked away, next to the Barton Rifle Range, immediately after the small roundabout to Barton, indicated with a red arrow on the map.

Haggis Farm
This is where members of CUPC train, play chukkas and organise Varsity games in Cambridge. The farm is run by Jacqui and Brian, and of course their dog Boris! The gate at the entrance of the farm MUST be kept shut at all times, even if your Uber driver insists on leaving it open for 5 minutes when they drop you off. Ponies could escape and end up on the busy motorway.
There is a country house where you can get changed, access the loo, fill up your water bottle or simply relax after lessons. CUPC mallets are kept in the trailer on the side of the arena. You can leave your coats and bags there.
Appropriate safety gear for your first polo lessons
You will need a suitable riding helmet and boots that protect your ankles and have a well-defined square cut heel, with no tassels or fringes. Your helmet needs to be fitted and must be certified to the PAS standard of the most recent HPA Helmet Regulations.
Where to buy helmets
You do not need to purchase a polo helmet, an approved riding helmet can be a cheaper option. Currently, this is the cheapest helmet that is tested to the safety of polo, and can be purchased in Decathlon, and also in The Old Barn Shop, a short drive from Cambridge.
For polo helmets:
Where to buy boots
Decathlon sells affordable rubber riding boots and chaps. The Old Barn Shop also has a good selection of boots.
You can also buy a polo bundle at JR, which includes polo helmet, polo boots, polo gloves, socks, polo whites, kneepads and a bag for a very competitive price.

Please see HPA helmet regulation here:

After your lesson or chukka, it is courtesy to untack your pony. This practice serves the double purpose of bonding with the horse and developing a deeper understanding of the polo playing gear and safety.
If you do not know how to untack your horse, please watch the video.
