Two Strong Wins Against Exeter

October 10, 2015

Cambridge had two strong wins at Novice and Intermediate level at our home ground, Cambridge County Polo Club.

After a tense warm-up, and with the pressure of the finals, the light blue team rode into the arena for their final match against a strong Exeter team. When the chukka started, the light blue team were caught by surprise by Exeter's offensive strategy and, despite some valiant efforts by Aviv, Exeter scored the first goal. However, Sara, wasting no time, hit the ball straight up the wall to Aviv who tapped the ball into the goal, evening the score. Exeter, fighting hard, rebounded with a goal of their own. Even more determined, another great hit out by Sara sent the ball flying. With some quick follow up hits by Sara with Katie blocking any Exeter attacks, Sara scored a goal. With some good ride offs from the light blue team, Katie managed to hit the ball against Eexter's pony, sending the ball rebounding into their goal. Cambridge were back in the lead! However, after a long drawn out battle between the light blues and the greens in the centre of the arena, Exeter levelled the score with a very impressive breakaway. With the end of the chukka drawing closer and the prospect of a penalty shoot-out, the light blues fought valiently to being the ball back to Eexter's goal. With Exeter cutting infront of Katie's line, the umpire blew his whistle to give Cambridge penality 1 just as the buzzer went off to indicate the end of the chukka! Leaving the light blues #undefeated #N3Champions
